Eurodos implements first project in Poland

A sludge dewatering system and a sludge drying system have been installed at the Toruń treatment plant (approx. 400,000 PE).

The project was successfully completed by Eurodos Dosiertechnik GmbH – a company in the VTA Group – with its partner Krevox.

The Polish company, headquartered in Warsaw, was the general contractor for a series of upgrading work for the sludge line at the Toruń treatment plant. For project planning and construction of the necessary polymer treatment systems, Krevox relied on the expertise of Eurodos.

Toruń is situated on the Vistula river around 180 kilometres northwest of Warsaw. The former Hanseatic city, which today has 213,000 inhabitants, has an important economy, including one of Poland’s largest sugar producers.

A sludge dewatering system and a sludge drying system have been installed at the Toruń treatment plant (approx. 400,000 PE). For centrifuge polymer processing, Eurodos supplied three three-chamber dosing systems, each with a capacity of 3,000 litres. Each system is equipped with a dry material feeder and a concentrate pump and can be operated in a fully automated manner with dry or liquid polymer. Eurodos systems are optimally designed to ensure that the maturation period required for the product is guaranteed and the polymer requirement can be significantly reduced. Like the dryers and centrifuges, the polymer systems are controlled by a control system from Andritz Automation.

This project was the acid test for the partnership between Krevox and Eurodos – a test passed with aplomb. Krevox has been operating for almost 20 years in the water and wastewater treatment sector, a promising growth market in Poland.
